This week

I have asked the children what their favourite parts of this week have been and what they would like all of you grown ups to know about.

Maths came out as a clear favourite, the children have been working incredibly using counters and making card games to help them master their 3x tables and they were fantastic!
We have also been doing lots of work on multiplication and division (using arrays and grouping) and they are all using these strategies more confidently which is great. We will be learning about time next week so please start looking at this at home (analogue and digital)

They would also like me to tell you about their amazing work in PE this week. They have worked particularly hard especially in rugby where they are now running whilst passing the ball backwards.

Our first baby

Today I spotted our first caterpillar turn into a butterfly. To start off he chrysalis wriggled a bit and then some red stuff came out, it was colour from his wings. Then the chrysalis broke open and he came out. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl. Next it climbed up the net and was trying to spread them open. It was really exciting!

Year 2's Marvellous Medicine

Well it's been an exciting afternoon here! Miss Williams has been working with us on measuring capacity recently and to finish the set of lessons off we all created recipes for our own Marvellous Medicine.
We made sure we were safe by wearing protective clothing including real science goggles.
As you can see the medicine certainly turned out looking (and smelling) very interesting.

The Year 2 mocktail bar is open!

We have made mocktails and they were really tasty. We used Orange juice,Cherry juice, lime juice and much more.Mocktails are cocktails but with out alchohol. We were practising our measuring skills from this week. We were a bit like George from Georges Marvellous Medicine.
